Velma Luna Nakamoto passed away peacefully at her home on June 20, 2026, at the age of 81. She was born on February 3, 1945, in Maui, Hawaii.
Velma's love extended beyond her family, as she became a cherished "Tutu" to all. She will be remembered for the deep love, kindness, joyful spirit, and "HoloHolo missions" she shared with her family and friends.
As she leaves behind family and friends who will forever honor the love and memories they shared, we grieve her passing and will miss her deeply.
We find comfort in knowing she is now reunited with her parents, Nicanor and Madiline Luna; her three brothers, David, Jimmy, and Hennessy Luna; along with many other beloved family members and friends.
May she now rest with the Lord and be forever remembered.
Velma is survived by her devoted husband, Clarence Nakamoto; their three children, Kevyn (Marcy), Kristie, and Luke (Nikki); their 11 grandchildren, Emma, Heather, Pomaika'i, Kody, Nai'a, Lilinoe, Keheleleowilimainanoe, Kupono, Kawehiwehi, Meleana, and Noah; their 13 great-grandchildren, Ka'iwalani, Ezekiel, Kaiehu, Kalawai'a, La'iku, Hank-William, Silvia, Keola, Matthew, Kalo, Haloa, Kaneloa, and Hauli'i; as well as their two great-great-grandchildren, Kamaha'o and Kalahiki.
