Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 24, 2014, at St. Theresa Catholic Church; mass will begin at 11:00 a.m.; burial will follow, 12:30 p.m., at Maui Memorial Park Cemetery in Wailuku. The family requests no flowers.
Vernon retired from the National Guard after 16 years, receiving the rank of Sergeant. He retired from the County of Maui Refuse Division, and he was a pig farmer in Kihei for many years. He was predeceased by his son, Robert Pimentel. He is survived by his wife, Christine Pimentel; sons, Guy (Carolyn) Pimentel, Neal August Pimentel; daughters, Natalie (Frank) Phillips, April (Harold) Clark; brother, Clifford (Clarita) Pimentel; sisters, Evelyn (Johnny) Sardinha, Harriet Pimentel; 9 grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren.
