Veronica "Roni" K. Braun

Veronica "Roni" K. Braun went to be with the Lord in her Kihei home, surrounded by loved ones, on Thursday, June 20, 2024, at the age of 68, following complications from cancer. She is survived by her husband, Bruce Braun of Maui; their sons, Kanoe Braun and Maika Braun, both of Maui; her grandchildren, Cruz and Mahina Braun (Brenda Braun), Maui; her sister, Leinaʻala Kaʻaihue, Maui; her sister-in-law, Linda (Ed) Hass of Jackson, MI; and numerous aunts, nieces, nephews, uncles, and cousins.

Roni was born to Herman and Miriam Kaʻaihue in Maui in 1955. She graduated from Lahainaluna High School and married Bruce Braun in 1981. Roni worked as a housekeeper in the hospitality industry for over forty years and as a hula dancer in her younger years, performing throughout Maui. She retained her grace and skill as a dancer into her senior years, much to the delight of her family and friends who loved to see her artful presentations.

Roni was known for her beauty and gracious smile, her generous heart, her love of family, Zumba, and her knack for preparing pancit, a favorite at family potlucks. She was also renowned for putting others first. Roni was our “Hawaiian princess” and was loved by everyone.

Funeral services will be held in her honor on August 17, 2024, at Ballard Family Mortuary. Visitation will be at 9:00 AM, followed by the service at 11:00 AM. In lieu of calls, the family would appreciate your cards and prayers.
