Evan Napua Walker, 74, of Hawi, Hawai‘i, passed away on April 1, 2025, in Hilo. She was born on March 25, 1951, in Kohala. Evan retired from the Department of Education, where she worked as a teacher’s aide in preschool education.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Walker.
She is survived by her sons, Gilbert (Violet) Osaki of Kapa‘au and Chad (Mushie) Osaki of Kohala; daughters, Napua Osaki of Kohala and Raydyn (Junior) Ines of Kamuela; hanai daughter, Tabitha “Shayenani” Miguel; sisters, Loretta (Gilbert Swampa) Bigtas of Kohala, Sandra “Sweetie” (Charlie) Stevens of Kona, and Lynette “Honey Girl” Stevens of Kohala; brother, Andrew (Jenny) Stevens of Kohala; brother-in-law, Herman (Bobby) Walker of O‘ahu; two grandsons; and several hānai grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at Gospel of Salvation Church in Kohala on Saturday, May 3, 2025. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m., with the service to follow at 10:30 a.m. Burial to follow at Hawi County Cemetery.
