With heavy hearts we announce the passing of our dear mother
Mrs Freda Poole passed away peacefully May 4, 2016, born August 11, 1927
She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her daughter June (Allen) Harrold, son Bill (Sheryal) Poole and daughter Judy (Rob) Poole, 8 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 3 great, great grandchildren.
Predeceased by her loving husband William Poole in 1987, brother Victor Mason and sister Grace McMane
Mom married her childhood sweetheart Oct 3, 1945 and they first lived on Elm Street in Grimsby, Ontario with her mom Ethel and dad Ernie Mason. Shortly after June was born they moved to dad’s parents fruit farm in Beamsville, Ontario where mom helped work on it. In 1955 they decided to venture out West, first going to Alberta and then on to BC settling in North Delta. Dad was a welder but decided to start his own contracting business with mom at his side in 1965. She spent many hours in the truck waiting for him while he was only going to be a few minutes at his meeting.
Mom & Dad moved to Kamloops in 1975 and bought a home in Westsyde with a swimming pool which their grand kids loved to be in and they enjoyed having them there at their house.
Mom enjoyed bingo, the casino, garage sales, doing crafts (until her eyesight got too bad) playing cards and other games with her grand kids and golfing which she continued to golf until her early 80’s. Dad tried to teach her to golf but had a heck of time until they both realized she was left handed, then she became a pretty good golfer. Mom golfed on a team at the coast until they moved to Kamloops. Her and dad did a lot of golfing during the winter months at their home in Indio, Cal.
Mom bowed out like a real trouper, peaceful, quiet dignity and in her own mind. Mom will be dearly missed by all who loved her.
Special thanks to Dr. Mavis Hollman and the nurses and caregivers in Jade at Brock Gemstone
Pastor Zacharie Jean will be conducting the service.
