James Marmion Flynn
July 30, 1931 – December 16, 2020
On Wednesday December 16, 2020 Mr. James “Scotty” Marmion Flynn passed away peacefully with family by his side. He was born July 30, 1931 in Perth, Scotland. James will be lovingly remembered by his loving wife of 63 years, Janet; his son Gerard (Dale) of Halifax, NS, his daughter Theresa Anne (Bert) Philippot of Kamloops; three grandchildren Trevor Flynn, Kaleigh (Trevor) Martin and Wesley and great grandson Grayson James Martin, and special granddog Zoe. Also left to cherish his memory are his two brothers Austin and Peter, residing in the UK and numerous nieces, nephews and other family. James immigrated to Montreal in 1956 to start a new life in Canada. Shortly after arriving he enlisted in the Canadian Armed Forces. Janet arrived in Canada in 1957 and 10 days later they were married in Saskatoon. The military life included many stations for them: Montreal, Gander, Sioux Lookout and on to Lahr, Germany, until finally settling in Kamloops (Mt. Lolo) in 1980. He had 29 years of service, completing his career in Kamloops in 1985. James loved to fish the many local lakes, the Little Shuswap Lake was the all-time favorite. He also enjoyed curling and spending time with his teammates. Family was especially important to James! The family would like to give a million thanks to the wonderful staff at Kamloops Sr. Village for their amazing care of James. Also to Dr. Hamilton for his years of exceptional care.
