OBITUARY
Kim I-Lan Fitzpatrick
November 18, 1969 – January 15, 2021
“SHE WAS STRONG AND BRAVE AND BROKEN ALL AT ONCE” Kim Fitzpatrick November 18, 1969 – January 15, 2021 It is with unbearable heartache and never ending sadness that we announce the passing of “our” Kim. She was an amazing daughter, sister, mother, aunt and wonderful friend to so many who knew her. Her family was the most important part of her life, she enjoyed being with her large extended family of aunts, uncles, grandparents, cousins and dear friends. The many family BBQ’s and get togethers, pool parties and visits always made her super HAPPY. She leaves behind her mom Eileen Storzuk, her brother Kevin Storzuk, wife Kim and nephew Kolton; son Keaton Fitzpatrick and fiancé Jaymie; daughter Megan and husband Richie Medrano and Grandpa Gordon Fitzpatrick. She is predeceased by her Dad Mervin Storzuk, nephew Karson Storzuk as well as many much loved Aunts, Uncles and Grandparents. Kim was employed as a legal service coordinator at BCLC Kamloops BC for the past five years. Her animals gave her so much love and enjoyment – she had horses for many years and she rode in the cattle drive with her dad – she was her dad’s girl and they had a great time together. Her dogs Bear, Ace and Kuma. Kuma was a rescue dog who found a wonderful forever home on lots of property to run and enjoy life. Her wish in life was to have her home and her animals at the end of a long day. Kim had a big generous heart and was kind and loving, always thinking of others and often picking up something that she thought someone else would like. A family service will be held when it is safe, possibly in the spring or summer due to the covid virus. Remembrance donations would be appreciated to the SPCA or BC Cancer agency in lieu of flowers. We lost our Matilda – our ray of sunshine and our lives will be forever changed…

Many thoughts and prayers to the entire family. I am so sorry for your loss and shocked at her sudden passing.
Kim and I had recently been in contact and were able to "catch up" after too many years. In our younger years, we spent a lot of time together through grade school, junior/senior high but lost contact after graduation.
Many wonderful memories of her as she always made a great impression with her smile and laughter! I wish she could have had more time.
She will be sadly missed.

Kim was a bright light, a strong heart and a brave and wonderful soul who will be so very missed. Our hearts break with yours as we remember the moments we shared in our growing up years and later in life through our long standing family friendships. She might have gone before us, but I know her love for her family will keep her close until we meet again.

I worked with Kim at BCLC and have the fondest memories of her. I would always stop by her desk, and we would chat about our love of animals and wine. She spoke so highly of her family, and I could tell how much she loved her kids. She was a beautiful soul and always enjoyed a good laugh. She will be dearly missed. I am terribly sorry for your loss and will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

On behalf of my mother Helen Yaretz/Jozic (née Storzuk) and her children (Sharlene, Nadine, Collin, Ken, Candice & families), we would like to extend our heartfelt condolences to Eileen Storzuk and families. Collin lived not too far from Mervin and Eileen in Barnhartvale for several years, and although visits were few, they were enjoyed by all who were able to get together. It is with sad understanding on losing a loved one, take solace that memories will hold strong, and her love will continue.

I will always remember Kim for her bright eyes and infectious smile, often with a hint of mischievousness. She was warm, funny, FUN, and she didn't have time for bullsh*t. What a woman. An inspiration!

This is such a sad loss. When Gord introduced Kim to us we could see what a light she was in his life. So full of energy and laughter she brought smiles to all who knew her. We enjoyed her company at many family outings throughout the years and are devastated at this loss. It breaks my heart that their time together was not mentioned as Kim was his love, his everything.
To all of her family and friends and to Gord, our deepest sympathies for your loss. May you find peace in your memories of her.
She will be missed.

We went to visit the Storzuk’s in Langley when I was 12 or 13 and Kim took me for a ride in her car with a sun roof. She drove like a maniac along the country roads with the sun roof open, windows down and “Fast Car” cranked on the stereo. When I stopped being terrified, we laughed and sang and had the best time. I think that’s why bought that car off of her when I turned 16. I wanted to be as cool as her. I hope you’re driving like a maniac where ever you are with all the people we’re missing along side you laughing and singing . See you on the other side some day.

I’ve always known my cousin Kim was the coolest cat around. When I was little and she was a teenager, I was in awe of her rad hair and makeup and attitude. She was also forgiving – like when I ruined her Barbie Styling Head and unsuccessfully tried to steal her dog.
Goodbye to a lovely and funny lady.
Rest in peace. ♥️♥️

So I went to school with Kim from Kindergarten through to grade 12. She was always tall, funny and smart. We were in a split class of kids in elementary school for years, so there were only seven of us in a grade. I know it is just a random memory... We were really young and we went to the Spaghetti Factory on an elementary school field trip and I believe she ordered Spaghetti with butter on it. A kid thing.
I haven't seen her really since high school so she lives in my mind in that way ... a teenager ready to take on the world.

I’ll miss you so much Kim! Even chasing toads in the dark with flashlights, we had always had a blast! You were one of the few people that knew and understood whatever crazy thing I was telling you about without me needing to explain, we were ALWAYS on the same page. I love you lady, Rest In Peace my friend
