In Loving Memory of Lillian Gail DRAKE
January 14, 1942 – April 6, 2026
With great sadness, we announce the passing of Lillian “Lil” Drake on April 6, 2026. Lil was a beloved and vibrant soul who enriched the lives of everyone she met.
Lil will be lovingly remembered by her two sons, Brett (Anita) and Todd (Shannon). She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Katie, Corey, and Cole, as well as her sister and dearest friend, Arlene. She was predeceased by her husband, Beres, in 2000, and her sisters, Pat and Diane.
Lil was born in Victoria, British Columbia, and later lived in Calgary, Alberta, before meeting the love of her life in Rossland, where their life together began.
Lil was a woman of boundless creativity—a talented seamstress, musician, baker, and artist. Her artistry was not only in the beautiful things she made, but in the love she poured into each creation. Whether stitching a dress, playing a melody, baking a cake, or crafting something special, her passion and dedication were evident to all.
Beyond her many talents, Lil was known for her generous spirit and unwavering devotion to her family. She gave selflessly of her time and energy, always putting others before herself. Her warmth and kindness were a beacon of light to all who knew her.
She leaves behind a legacy of love, creativity, and generosity, and she will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Though our hearts are heavy, we find comfort in knowing she is reunited with her beloved husband, whom she loved so dearly.
The family extends their sincere gratitude to the staff at Ponderosa Lodge for their compassionate and dedicated care.
“And I hope the angels know what they have.”
A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date with family and friends.
Rest in peace, Mom. Your memory will forever live on in our hearts.
