Dear Virginia, Derek & family and Andrea & family.  It is with much shock and sadness that we have just learned of Rick’s passing.   Our most sincere condolences are with all of you at this difficult time.   We had many wonderful memories with you guys, lots of laughs and funny stories.  Although we didn’t see each other over the past years, we will always  remember the pleasant times we had of days gone by.

Rick and I met as junior bankers for the Royal Bank at Main & 8th in Vancouver. We became buddies and roommates. We fed ourselves from the bank’s cafeteria for $2.00 a day each as finances were very tight then. When he came back from a course, he could not stop talking about this gorgeous babe he had met there. He was smitten! I was best man at Rick and Virginia’s wedding. 
Life throws many curves and our paths separated; sadly we lost touch. Rick was a good man and a good buddy. We shared our lives too briefly; I remember him dearly.
