

Abbey Aukeleana Rutledge, 45 of Kailua, Hawaii, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family and close friends on October 23, 2024, after a courageous 1-year battle against cancer. She was a warrior during her fight, but she always maintained a positive attitude and a beautiful smile.
Abbey was a graduate of Kailua High School, class of 1998. She held many different jobs in her short life; Unity House where she assisted with various duties; she was a manager for Hanauma Bay Snorkel Shop & Ala Wai Driving Range. She also worked for the Kailua Women’s Prison, Waiawa Men’s Correctional Facility & the Kulani Correctional Facility in Hilo. Her last job was with her brother Aaron, as a delivery driver for Hula Brand Noodles.
Abbey is survived by her parents Anthony “Tony” & Audrey Rutledge, brothers Anthony Jr, (Kim), Aaron (Hauoli) & sister/best friend Angela Rutledge. Aunt’s Anna Camenson & Barbara “BJ” Abbey, Uncle Art Abbey. Her 4 stepchildren; Kapena, Makaio, Sarah, & Sophie. Her girlfriend and amazing caregiver Luana “Kalei” Kaio, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and finally her fur baby Trixie.
She was predeceased by her wife Brandy Ululani Ha’eomalamalama Rutledge, her paternal grandparents Arthur & Lucille Rutledge, maternal grandparents Arthur & Mary Jane Abbey, her Uncle Arthur Rutledge Jr. & fur baby Tacoma.
