Adriana MaMacLay Mata

Adriana Mamaclay Mata, lovingly known as "Andring," passed away surrounded by the love of her family in June, 2026. She was born in San Nicolas, Philippines in 1943 and immigrated to Hawaii in 1969, where she built a life defined by faith, honesty, hard work, and devotion to her family.

A woman of deep Christian faith, Andring was a devoted Pentecostal. One of her proudest accomplishments was graduating from Bible school in the Philippines. Her faith remained the foundation of her life, and she faithfully attended The Risen Christ Faith Church until declining health prevented her from doing so.

Andring worked as a housekeeper at the Hawaiian Regent Hotel until her retirement in the early 2000s. She was widely recognized for her exceptional work ethic, receiving numerous commendations from hotel management for her outstanding service. She was especially admired for her unwavering honesty, earning the gratitude of many hotel guests by faithfully returning valuables they believed had been lost forever.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gaspar Mata, her parents, Bartolome and Juana Mamaclay, and siblings Carmen, Ruben, and Jose.

Andring is survived by her children, sons Edwin and Ernesto Cabacungan, daughter Arlene Seymour, and her siblings, Consuelo, Alex, Gil, and Hector Mamaclay.

Andring will be remembered for her steadfast faith, quiet strength, humility, integrity, and selfless devotion to others. Her life was a testament to the values she cherished, and her legacy will continue to inspire all who knew and loved her.
