Alberta Perry Arola
Alberta Perry Arola was called home on Friday, August 14, 2026, in Honolulu, Hawaii. Alberta was born on March 23, 1933, to William Pestana Perry and Emily Cabral Perry in the Territory of Hawaii. She lived a life that was a testament to the beauty of a soul surrendered to GOD and her family.
Alberta was a remarkable woman. She graduated from Sacred Hearts Academy on June 1, 1952, often attending reunions and Sacred Hearts Academy functions. She married Christopher Arola at St. Patrick’s Church in Kaimuki on June 14, 1952. Alberta worked for Watumull’s in the Ilikai Hotel from 1972-1978. Alberta Perry Arola was preceded in death by her husband, Christopher Arola who passed away on June 17, 2004.
Alberta loved all and everyone loved her right back (the bus drivers, postal carrier, hairdresser, doctors, hospital staff, dental staff, neighbors and endless friends). Alberta thought of everyone else before herself. She took her kids to the beach on the bus, entertained the neighbor’s kids and played board games well into the night with her family. Often, she carried a Christmas tree on the bus for her family. Whenever a new Elvis movie came out, she took four of her kids on the bus to see the movie. She bribed them with candy to ensure they stayed quiet. I am sure this is where her kids developed a lifetime appreciation for Elvis.
Alberta’s favorite childhood memory was playing with her neighbors. Her advice to her teenage self is to be kind, thoughtful and helpful – do not be impatient. Alberta’s favorite subject is Geography (she owned a full encyclopedia set) and her least favorite was Math. Alberta’s favorite movie is The Sound of Music. Her favorite color is lavender and Purple. Alberta’s favorite quote is, “I cried because I had no shoes. Then, I met someone who had no feet”. Alberta was most proud of her family who loved her dearly.
