Bertie Marie Johnson, 47, of Mililani, Hawaii, passed away on February 5, 2026. Born April 5, 1978, in Las Vegas, Nevada, Bertie was beloved for her compassionate, devoted, generous, humorous, hard-working, and kind-hearted spirit.
After spending her childhood in Las Vegas, Bertie moved to Arizona with her parents and graduated from Cibola High School in 1996. She went on to complete an associate’s degree before beginning her career as a police dispatcher in Florence, Arizona.
Later, Bertie moved to Hawaii, where she continued her dedicated service in law enforcement communications with the Honolulu Police Department. Over the years, she earned the respect of colleagues through her steady professionalism and commitment, ultimately serving as a Supervisor.
Bertie found joy in the everyday moments that mattered most to her. She enjoyed her work, listening to BTS music, and spending time playing with her cats. She also loved driving to the North Shore for shave ice and to watch the waves.
In addition to her work, Bertie gave her time in support of others by helping her sister with Hawaii Church for the Deaf.
Bertie is survived by her sisters, Carrie Ann Van Slyke (Michael) and Samantha Gail Johnson; and her niece, Kaila Hudson (Joshua) and their children. She was preceded in death by her father, Samuel Johnson, and her mother, Carol Johnson.
