Brian, I just learned of your passing. I have great memories of all the fun we had at the bar in the 80’s!  You were a great and fun-loving guy. My condolences to your family.  RIP Brian🙏

As many of you have already stated, Uncle Brian was a man with a heart of gold, and a laughter to ride in stride.  He showed no time to ill fated monkey business, but was more than generous with those that he loved.  Uncle B and Uncle Kimo were brothers to the end, and it brings me joy in these hard days to know that they are once again together.  I enjoyed the calls that we shared over the years when I was unable to visit in person, and hear your laughter.  They are gems that will never leave my memory.  I can remember the first time you instructed me that when ever someone calls my full name to reply, "Not guilty your honor".  A tradition that continued for years to come.  Someone across the Garaggio while watching a fight, football game, or just a family party would call out, "Kamuela Johnson" to which I would look around and reply out "Not guilty your honor" it was not until Uncle B, Uncle Kimo, and my father would start laughing that I could place where the initial call had come from.  My love and condolences go out to the Gonsalves 'Ohana, and all those that are feeling the loss in our lives.  Uncle Brian loved Frank Sinatra and the song "I did it my way", and I'm sure we can all attest that Uncle Biran did just that.  Aloha 'Oe Uncle B

When I think about Uncle B, the first thing I think of is that Man had Charisma, when he walk in to a room the whole energy would change. I remember sitting  in Dad's garage listening to his stories and his slick one liners, followed by his unforgettable laugh that would be joined in with everyone else in the room. He was very selective who he hung around and wasn't with any monkey business. He also helpout alot of family members and friends and would always tell me this, " if you gonna do something nice for someone never expect anything in return, because in 100 years nobody gonna remember" He  was classy and life's story with life lessons will be missed but never forgotten. Cousin Brian, just thinking about you brings a smile to my face. You have always been so loving, kind, & generous.  You always showed "family" what love should look like.  Now you're with Kimo again, until we can all join you.  Rest in peace cousin.

Where to start, where to end? 20 years of brotherhood.  Aloha oe, aikane.  Lots to remember; far too much to even attempt to recount, but the many hours at Halela Street, sitting in comfortable conversation and laughter was always the best.  Save me a seat nearby, B, so we can take up the conversation again as soon as I join you and brother Kimo.  It can’t be too far off.  I love you and miss you both terribly and the world is a lesser place for your departure.  When I count my blessings, I count you twice. My Uncle B,
You will be missed greatly- your smile, your laugh, and your sense of humor. So many memories to count: New Years’ at Dads with loads of fireworks, having a few in the garaggio talking story about epic adventures you and Dad had together and the endless words of wisdom about life and the sacrifices we need to make to be successful including “ save your $, skip the bar, drink at home!”
When I return home again I will miss seeing you on your balcony watching the grand nieces and nephews playing together in the yard with a huge smile on your face and calling “hui” down to them!
Always a genuine and generous presence in my life and of our Ohana. I miss you and Daddy so much, but am comforted to know you  are both reunited again with Grandma Lea and Granny Rose.

Brian, the best brother in law, uncle, brother, son, grandson and friend.  All the best Christmas trees he and Jr. delivered to all his of nephews and nieces.  His generosity to those he loved and anyone down on his luck.  The many Don Ho Shows and first class treatment where ever we went.  A loyal friend and brother you will not find.  So funny.  What about that “machine gun” laugh?
For all of this, I am truly grateful and love him.  The mold was broken after God made him.   Truly missed.

I had the privilege of knowing uncle Brain for about 10yrs he was a good man. I also had the privilege of doing some projects for him like garages and kennels.   He also ask me to do more projects and I didn’t forget but when this pandemic is over I will fulfill his request. Love u uncle Brain.

Uncle Brian was first class all the way. Nothing less than the best for those he loved.  He always took care.  I will remember the good times, his laugh, his awesome sayings, “I get future!” Is what he would say with his classic laugh when the party was over. Good fun, good hearted and a great man. I love and miss him dearly but I know he’s with his best friend, my dad Kimo, and his leading ladies, Grandma Lea and Granny, in heaven.  I am extremely grateful for his guidance, generosity and presence in my life. 

With Love and Respect for Cousin BRIAN I would like to say how Great of a Guy he was to me and a Lot of Family and Friends. As a kid growing up he took a favor to me and helped me by explaining and telling me what’s up. He loved Music , and SPORTS  and would watch LUCAS play all he was playing. From the Aikahi Tigers -St Louis-Washington also Hunting. He liked Boxing 🥊 a lot too . I met a lot of Great Friends from Brian who he worked with from Unko DON HOs  to the Docks and Dad’s BIGGIES NUT SHELL . BIG B and Brother KIMO was tight . HIGH CALIBER . Also I’d like to Say THANK YOU ANN & LUCAS for being there 24/7 . That’s what you Have . TRUE LOVE   Another thing BRIAN TOUGHT US .  Love and Blessings to You CUZ and Everyone in HEAVEN 🕊💜

Brian was always a very thoughtful kind and generous friend/brother to all who knew him..he had a giving heart of  gold.
I will never forget how he helped me when my children were little ,  ( Troy and Lahela) he was our landlord and always made sure that we had everything we needed, always so  caring and sweet.. Thank you Brian

Greatest uncle a nephew could ever ask for. Took care of me my whole life all the way like I was your own. Even now that you have left us. Most generous, kind-hearted gentlemen to all people with a certain type of charisma. Thank you uncle B for everything, you will forever be with me and in my heart and I will cherish all the memories you have given me in my life. Promise to make you proud until we meet again. My Sweet Brother Brian passed away peacefully at home with Lucas and I on February 24 2021.  Brian worked for Don Ho for 10 fantastic years with many dear friends. He then went on to work for Matson for the next 30 years.  Brian was a loving, kind, gentle and very giving Man..He love to travel with his buddies..he loved to swim every morning with his Dad..he loved the Holidays..especially Christmas and New Years at our Home..lots of fun times we had. He loved Sports and especially loved watching Lucas play. He loved our Children and Grandchildren very much..they brought him much Joy and Happiness..He and my Husband Kimo were very close and are reunited again along with the rest of our dear Ohana.  Thank u Brian for all u have done Brother..soar with the Angels and Hugs my Husband for me..
