

Cresencia Manuel Badua 94 years old passed away peacefully with her family surrounding her on July 25, 2024 at Palolo Chinese Home. She was born on February 24, 1930 in Nueva Vizcaya, P.I. to Cipriano If and Mariana Tf (Doctor Manuel. Cres lived in the Philippine till the age of 6. in 1936 Cres and her mother came to America. At that time , Cres had the historic privilege of having her Visa to America being numbered as #1. Her first memories of America were the joy of eating an apple for the first time. Cres lived in Lihue, Kauai with her parents and 3 siblings enjoying the simple life in a sugarcane plantation camp. Her brother and sisters called her “Esing”. She graduated from Kauai High School in 1949, then soon after married Lino Valdez Badua in Lihue, Kauai where they had a three day wedding reception.
They moved to Oahu that year and had three children, Rolland, Loralyn and Jennifer. Living the dream of coming to America she taught her children the importance of higher education, hardwork, saving 10% from every paycheck, to cherish,treasure and being present in your loved ones lives and the character value of being kind to others. Cres loved spending time with family and friends, growing beautiful orchids in her tropical garden, dancing, cooking , investing in the stock market, enjoying a quiet moment of sitting on her balcony of her home overlooking the Honolulu City Lights. Cres loved Thanksgiving and Christmas. She was so happy in keeping up the generational family tradition of family gathering during the holidays.
Cres worked many years for Alfred Shaheen, a Hawaiian clothing manufacturer as a lead sample seamstress where they made beautiful muumuus and aloha shirts. She was a member of Sarrat Association of Hawaii with her husband,Lino who was a co-founder of this prestigious Filipino organization.
Cres is a kind soul, good hearted, devoted wife, a loving mother and grandmother, in her younger days a beauty queen, smart but humble , contagious laughter, classy and eloquent, a happy taxi driver for her grandchildren and always thoughtful of others. Our family was blessed by her love for us.
She was also blessed in having a family who cherish and loved her as well. The family is comforted to know she is “Safe in God’s Arms”. We will love her for always and forever.

Joseph ,LeanadroT ; Angel T. Sisters in law,Mercedes , Victoriana ir and the entire Badua family consisting of 2nd to 5th generation descendants living here in Hawaii.
