

Francis Alvin Young 85, passed away peacefully on December 8, 2024 in his home town of Honolulu, HI. Born to John Au and Mildred Young on February 16, 1939 he was raised in Kalihi-Palama on Oahu. He is survived by his wife Mary Jane Ululani Townsend Young and daughters Vanessa (Jamie) Rau & Kimberly Young of Las Vegas, NV; Lia (Ian) Hunt of Honolulu, HI; sisters Rona Sakamaki, Leinette Shiraki and brother Steven (Cara) Young; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family. He is a graduate of Roosevelt Highschool Class of ’57 and Golden Gate University. He is a proud veteran of the United States Air Force where he competed on the USAF Volleyball Squad. He is the former owner of Goldwings Supply Service, Inc. and spent decades on the south ramp of Honolulu International Airport. He loved volleyball, basketball, the 49ers, golf and watching old westerns. He spent many years giving back to the community through coaching and mentoring. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren in Las Vegas and Honolulu. Services will be held at Hawaiian Memorial Cemetery in Kaneohe, HI on Saturday February 15th 2025. Visitation is at 9:30am, celebration of life begins at 10:00am and military burial at 1:00pm on site.
