I was wondering if anybody knows how Martha is doing ?

I was so lucky to have you as a nephew I miss you, and you gave me a wealth of knowledge about being on the island during World War II

Purvis, Jaire “JR”, and I loved George dearly! I will miss his advice (rather you wanted it or not), stories of his WW2 experiences at Schofield, lively political discussions,  watching the night sky, and hearing him speak lovingly about how fortunate he was to have found two wonderful wives. George was amazing, independent, healthier than men half his age (or younger) and will be dearly missed by his Maili neighborhood family!   My deepest sympathy for his wife and family!  I hope your loving memories will bring you some comfort!

My family and I moved away  from home about 7 years ago. Before leaving, we stopped by several times to see Grandpa especially since he was living on the Westside “W” (wessssside) 😁. Growing up I remember him flying in from San Francisco and kept thinking what it was like to live in the mainland. He would always talk about his 49ers 😘. 100 years strong! 100 years of a lot of love. Love you always Grandpa 😘😘😘

Although I never got to meet this amazing soul, my kids were given the opportunity to do so. And I am forever grateful they did. Shanya spoke many great things of her Papa and that, I will cherish dearly because I knew how much she loved him and her sharing her memories and speaking so highly of him only meant that she trusted me deeply! This man has done so much in this life that I know God has him wrapped around his arms in peace! Thank you Papa George for blessing this life with your presence and raising such a strong woman in Shanya. I promise to always be there for her and Ericka and hold on to our friendship as long as your spirit guides me to! 

Miss him for sure he went every place with me he always cruised with me on all my side jobs he liked that and we would crack a few beers and I would take him we would go eat pho soup he loved that I had a good 26 years of memories with Uncle George our pops (dad) 
Your papa was a man of Humility and wisdom people would look at me and him and say that’s your dad and I would tell them yeah because I would call him dad and they would look one Pake and one Spaniard 🤣🤣🤣🤗❤️

🙏🙏🙏 George was a great friend. He was full of knowledge and we really enjoyed the conversations and stories we had with him throughout the past 26 years. He was already missed by us in the last 2 years!!! I guess no more Heinekens with him anymore so now I will have to have a few for him!!!


Everyone in Waianae knew Grandpa with his green Cadillac. Never failed, we always spotted him out and about back in the day. 
Call me lucky but I share the same birthday as him and it made it so much easier for my best friend,  Shanya (his granddaughter) to remember mine.  


Papa was a man who loved to share his stories. He made sure I listened and payed attention closely. My favorite would me the ones he tells about him and my Grandma Laura. He makes the stories come alive and I never forget any of them.
words can't express the way i feel about this man. the love he had for FAMILY, forever in my heart, i love you papa.


I’m sad to say that I lost my Great Grandpa! I love you and may you Rest In Peace! 100 years old never looked so good!

Today is a day I knew was coming but came too soon. Just wanted to let my family and friends who knew my gramps know that he is no longer with us and is in that ballin caddy up in the sky. He made it to 100 and lived a long great life. I know he is proud of who I’ve become. I love you grandpa

It’s rare thing in life that you know a Centennial. If you didn’t know, That’s someone who live to be 100 years old and beyond.  What’s even more rare is knowing one that is sharp as a tack. Conversing with one who can recall, clear as day, the day he met the love of his life, the names of the guys he used to work with 70 years ago, or where he was and what he was doing when Pearl Harbor was attacked.

These are just a few of the conversations I had with Mr. George Fonseca. The knowledge and first hand accounts of history can never be replaced.

I love you Grandpa, how lucky I am that God put you on this earth to raise me and prepare me for my journey. You were my best friend. Our bond was indeed a special one. I would do anything for you just to see your smile. I know you are smiling down on me with Uncle Peter, Uncle Stan, Uncle Lot, Uncle Alfred, Aunty Chenty & Grandma Laura. I will miss you turning to me and asking “ Are you grandpas girl?” And I would look into your eyes and say “yes” and then you would respond “oh really” and I would say “yes!” again stronger than the first time and you would smile and say “oh yeah” so many memories will forever keep me grounded. You are my all, my everything loving you always - Grandpa’s Girl
