Georgianna "Georgi" "Annie" Hee Lin Lum

Georgianna “Georgi” “Annie” Hee Lin Lum, 79, born in Honolulu on August 15, 1940 was a lifetime resident on Oahu, Hawaii. She peacefully passed away on May 7, 2020. She was a graduate of Punahou School and received her teacher’s degree from Colorado State College, Greeley.

Her teaching career on Oahu spanned 30 years from 1963-1993 and included five schools:

Nanaikapono Elementary School (Nanakuli)

Puohala Elementary School (Kaneohe)

Kaelepulu Elementary School (Kailua)

Blanche Pope Elementary School (Waimanalo) and

Mayor John H. Wilson Elementary School (Kahala).

While at Wilson Elementary, she championed the cause to install the traffic lights near the school to keep the children safe. She was also instrumental in seeing that air conditioning was installed in classrooms. Her students adored her and even recognized/acknowledged her long after her retirement.

Georgianna was a world traveler and extensively traveled over 20 times to Japan. However, her favorite frequent destination was Las Vegas. She was a very lucky lady, beating the odds, and even earning a place on the Wall of Fame at the Fremont Hotel & Casino.

Georgianna was an avid reader and knowledgeable on current events, sports and entertainment. Her other outstanding talents included beadwork, scrapbooking and various arts and crafts. She was a “broke da mouth” fantastic Chinese cook, hands down!

Georgianna was the eldest child of George Cheong Chow and Harriet Chew Sin Lum (both deceased). Georgianna is survived by two brothers: Michael (Carol) and Milton (Robbie), niece Jennifer Tomita, step-nephew Brandon (Rose) Komoda, Aunty Mémée Chun, many cousins, and countless friends.

Private Service, Tuesday, June 9, 2020. While the private service is limited to the number of people due to Covid-19, visitation at Hawaiian Memorial Park Chapel, Kaneohe, is from 12:30-1:30 and open to all. Burial is at 2:00 p.m., Hawaiian Memorial Park Cemetery, Kaneohe. Face masks and social distancing required, and all are welcome to visitation and burial.
