During his teen years, Glenn spent a summer in Salt Lake City, Utah. When I met him, we became instant friends, sharing activities together, attending church at the 11th Ward of the University West Stake. When he returned to Hawaii, we exchanged letters for several years. His artwork, with decorating his letters and the envelopes, was impressive and colorful. I always looked forward to the mailman delivering his letters. We were pen-pals and friends. Miss the days of fun and laughter with him.

Glenn was like an adopted father for me between the years 1999 to 2004.  I worked for him in the lighting dept at Brigham Young University Hawaii all 4 years.  He and I were almost inseparable.  I enjoyed going to the movies with him and making movies with him.  We enjoyed meals together in different restaurants.  There was one time when he had to go to Kahuku Hospital for an ex-ray for something and he asked me to accompany him for support.  I think the two words I heard Glenn say most to me are "You're Fired".  I was fired pretty much every day for 4 years before and after work started.  Sometimes while we were just hanging out.  One time Glenn told me to go find a date for that night so we could double because he already has a date.  So I walked all around the campus asking girls to go on a date for that night and Glenn treated all four of us to Chinese and we went to see Gone in 60 Seconds at the Ko'olau Theater.  I lost contact with him about ten or so years ago when he retired but I never and will never forget him.  I used to call him and say....Hey Glenn  I'm bored, lets go to a movie!... He said....but you don't have any money....I said ...I know but you do!   Come on let's go....  To which he would say...Alright meet me out front in five minutes....At that time I lived across the street from him in Laie.  He was surely a great blessing to me in my life....My condolences to Jamie and Adam and all of Glenn's grand kids...I know I'm a year late but I just found this out today as I was prompted to Google Glenn Kau.  

What a fun and wonderful man.  I am an "Aussie" and was at BYUH when he asked me to be one of his "stars" for the Focus Film Club as lead the in movie "Dream Girl" and several others.  He was so passionate with the Club and his work at BYUH.  His family should be very proud of him and his achievements.  Much love and Aloha to Glenn and his family.

We will surely miss a great friend in our lives, but we have our memories of times of joy and laughter in the Laie 4th Ward. Go with Aloha braddah!❤️🤗🤙

In memory of one of my dearest friends from BYUH.  Dear Glenn Kau, my dear friend forever, I was so sad when I found out you passed away.  You have been one who I could always count on, you had incredible patience, a great listening ear.  You were so talented, kind, thoughtful and knew how to cheer me up. I’ve never seen you upset or angry.  You were so easy going and such a gentleman.  I’ve been lucky to have such a friend.  I have lots of great memories of you.   You made college so fun for me and many students.  You coaxed me into acting in one of your movies, even though I was a horrible actress.  LOL!  I’m so sad that we didn’t get together one last time. The last time I saw you was 10 years ago and it was so nice catching up.  You took incredible photos as always.  My favorite photo you took of me during my Senior year in college is always in my living room.  Can’t wait to meet up again with you in heaven!   😇😇😇 Love and miss you my friend! 

Glen produced many student films at BYUH and had started the Focus Film Club.  He was the most patient director ever.  He loved filming and photography and was really great at it.  So many great memories that BYUH students had being a part of his projects and productions.  He convinced me … a camera shy … not great at acting to be a part of his movie.   Thank you Glenn! 

On vacay  in Hawaii , I got to meet up with Glenn.  He took one of my fave pics of me and my youngest son. Christian Pugmire.  I had missed my visits with Glenn and we spent quality time catching up at Turtle Bay.  It was the last time I got to see Glenn.  August 2013.  

I met Glenn working at BYUH in the Community Performing Arts Program.  He often dropped by to discuss work with my boss at the time (Dudley Kekaula?) He was always so kind and friendly.  He loved to tease as well.   From then on we became good friends.   

Glenn had a way of seeing you.  For you kids that might be too young to know what that means fully, it means that your Papa knew how to treat a person that made them feel special, and loved, and like they had a real true friend that would help them with anything.  I always knew Glenn as "Jaymie's dad" growing up, then met him again at BYUH while at school for a Focus Film movie.  He made me run up a wall in these leather army-boots like I was some kind of ninja; I had no socks and the takes took forever that I ended up with a leather-gash in my ankle... still scars.  LOL.  Oh how Glenn had ideas for creativity, and working with him was so fun and FREEING.  He had a beautiful way of entertaining new ideas, and was always willing to help us try them out.  We need more people as caring as Glenn, strong in his commitment to serving others.  We remained good friends always, and I am touched for good for having had him as a friend.  Much aloha to you, family! 

I’m so sorry to hear of Glenn’s passing.  To his family, please accept my sincerest condolences.  My wife Ivy (Yau Ka Lan) Berry and me were friends of Glenn’s at BYU in Provo 1973-1975.  Ivy, who passed away April 2018, was from Hong Kong and knew Glenn there when he was a missionary.  During his stay in Provo, in order to make our resources stretch further by sharing the cost, Ivy would cook for Glenn, Wayne Eng, Darryl Dong, and of course myself.  We all attended the BYU Asian Branch.  I still remember those first old movies that Glenn made. Those were good old days for which I still harbor fond memories.

Glenn made my time at BYUH much more special. I loved having chats with him, spending time taking photos through the Focus Film Club, and acting in some of his movies. He was always so kind, a great listener, incredibly patient, and extremely talented. I know he meant a lot to many people. I will miss you Glenn. 

Glenn was the mastermind behind all the fun BYUH campus movies that students anticipated every single time. I was honored to be invited to star in one of his movies. I hesitated at first because that was a horror movie. Even though I did scare myself a little bit sometimes, it was very fun to bring the early Halloween spirit to the big screen under Glenn’s guidance. That also turned out to be one of my most memorable college experience at BYUH, in working with Glenn and his wonderful team. Glenn was a gentle and humble teacher that will surly be missed. RIP.

My name is Salisha and I am from the Eastern Caribbean.  I attended BYUH from 2008-2011 and had the honor of getting to know Glen. He was really skilled with the camera and always made all his subjects feel beautiful. I was in also in a movie too which he directed. He was a very friendly guy and made me believe in myself while having fun. I have never acted in a movie before but he made me feel proud and confident. I will forever be grateful of his grace, love and inspiration! 

Glenn will always be remembered on his Focus Film Productions. I've seen him around the BYU-H campus, but I was able  to get a close encounter with him when I auditioned for one of his movies (Mirage). 

I was nervous. Because the last time I did acting was in theater in high school. Yet, he made me feel so comfortable during the audition, and the actual filming. He was such an awesome guy to work with. He will surely missed. 

Definitely a core party of my experience at BYUH! Glen always had great stories and was friendly and supportive towards any students he came in contact with. Thank you for sharing him with us.
