After battling cancer, Howard S. Himphill, Jr., 61, passed away September 4th, peacefully at his home in Kaneohe surrounded by loved ones. He is survived by his wife, Lani; sons: Daniel Kawika (Jya-Ming) and Howard Kapono (Li Yuan); grandsons: Aislin and Austin; sister: Asopesio Ross; brothers: Johnny and Jimmy Himphill; and many nieces, nephews and their families.
Howard, a retired military veteran of the United States Navy, will surely be missed by his family and friends, especially his loving wife of 41 years.
Our family is grateful to the many family and friends for their prayers and words of encouragement during his battle. Special mahalo to our family members MJ, Mike and Christy for their assistance with his home care. Also, mahalo to the staff of Tripler Army Medical Center - Oncology Department and the staff of Malama Ola (hospice), especially Jaime, RN.
