February 11, 1930 - April 11, 2026
Jack passed away peacefully in Kaneohe, HI, surrounded by family.
He was born in Fowler, CO., and attended Centennial High School where he met and later married (in 1949) the love of his life, Barbara Jean Hamilton.
Jack worked many jobs in his young life, notably at his dad's gas station, the steel mill and at a fast-food hamburger eatery he and Barbara opened. They worked side-by-side cooking and serving the loyal patrons who visited them daily. Jack's career job, which brought him to Hawaii in 1963, was with the federal government, General Services Administration (GSA) where he rose in position to oversee the entire Pacific area. This position required his traveling to many places in Asia where Barbara and daughter Karen often had the opportunity to travel with him. He retired from GSA after 39 years of service. Being an ambitious person, he shortly thereafter started his own business, IHS (Information Handling Systems)/Bauer Pacific. He successfully maintained this business for 11 years before finally retiring.
Jack loved the Colorado mountains, fishing, visiting his 'Ol Geezer (as they were called) friends and cooking and baking special treats for his family. He had a great sense of humor, a kind spirit and above all, always put the well-being of his family first. Together, Jack and Barbara (dec'd 1/2022) had four children, John, Linda, Vickie (dec'd) and Karen. He is survived by his three children, their spouses, four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
