It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of James Nathan Ho’opale Tom, a man dedicated to his family and bringing joy to the lives of many. Nate was born on February 16, 1957, and transitioned out of this life on August 6, 2026. His drive and tenacity built a beautifully abundant life for him and his family—a life filled with laughter, profound love, and cherished memories.
He will be greatly missed and forever remembered.
He is survived by his wife, Charleen Tom, and his children, Ho’opale Tom and Kawehi Wight. His legacy and inspiration will be carried on by all who were touched by this incredible man.
A memorial service celebrating Nate’s life will be held on September 18, 2026, at Hawaiian Memorial. Public viewing begins at 4:30 p.m., with services following at 5:30 p.m. We invite all who knew and loved Nate to join us in honoring his memory.
