Life and Family
Jane Leinaala Palenapa Asing, 87, of Waimea, Hawai'i, peacefully passed away on July 9, 2026, at her residence on the Island of Hawai'i. Born on May 10, 1939, in Honolulu, Hawai'i, she was the beloved daughter of the late Joseph Palenapa and Carrie Palenapa. Jane was the last surviving member of her family of nine brothers
and sisters (deceased).
A Life Rooted in Love and Service
Jane's life was centered on family, and she will be remembered with grace and gratitude as the devoted wife of 67 years to her late husband, Patrick Asing. With a nurturing heart, she served as a steadfast anchor for those she loved. She was also a dedicated member of numerous local civic clubs and community organizations committed to improving life in her hometown of Waimea.
Jane is survived by her sons Patrick Asing (Napua), Justin Asing (Almyra), and Rocky Asing; and her daughters Jane Haynes (Raymond III) and Manu Hanano (Leslie). Known affectionately as "Deah Jane", she also leaves behind 17 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren. She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched.
