

John V Rodrigues Jr., of Honolulu, Hawaii passed away on April 15, 2024, at the age of 81. He was born in Ewa, Hawaii to the late John V. Rodrigues Sr. and Antonia Carvalho on July 21, 1942. He is survived by his beloved daughters (Randi-Ann Rodrigues and Kelli-Ann Meza), 4 grandchildren (Reno Mendoza, Austin Mendoza, Lauren Andres and Blake Andres), and great-grandchild Izaiah Mendoza.
John was a 1960 graduate of Waipahu High School and served his country in the United States Army from May 1961 to May 1964. During his military service, he spent time traveling the world and spending much time in Ethiopia. After his service, he worked for many years for the Army Department of Finance and Accounting Services. He worked as a financial systems auditor until he retired in 1996. John eventually moved to Central Florida to be closer to his daughters and grandchildren. He was a gifted writer and a great cook. He loved creating and trying new recipes. He enjoyed spending time with family, especially his children and grandchildren. John loved to read, watch musicals or Spanish language talk shows. He spent much of his retirement increasing his ability to speak Spanish.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate his life at his funeral to be held at Hawaiian Memorial Park Chapel on Friday, July 12, 2024 from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM. Lunch will be provided from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM and burial to follow at Hawaii State Veterans Cemetery.
