Ken E Gibson, devoted son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and best friend passed away Saturday, November 14, 2020.
Ken E Gibson, son of Wallace and Maurine Gibson was born in Logan, Utah. He attended Skyline high school as a star athlete who lettered in football, track, and baseball. He attended the University of Utah on a full baseball scholarship and earned his degree in Health Education. Upon graduation, he moved to Hawai’i where he had the opportunity to open the first Spa Fitness Centers as the General Manager. This was a dream career for the next 33 years. Ken also spent over 10 years working for Rainbow Roof Maintenance Company Inc. as a Project Manager.
Ken always wanted to be a father. He was blessed with five sons. With his guidance, all his sons earned the rank of Eagle Scout. Family meant everything to him.
He was a devout member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints where he served as the Bishop of the Kailua Ward. He also served in many leadership positions for more than 40 years.
Ken had a contagious smile and a generous heart. On August 13, 2005, he married Emi Lei States and was blessed with eight more beautiful children. Together, they had a blended family of 13 children.
He is survived by his sister, Joy Bossi, his wife, Emi Lei Colburn Gibson, his children Nainoa (Janny) Gibson, Keli’i (Lindsay) Gibson, Keli’i States, Reyn (Kawai) Gibson, Cameron (Alicia) States, Nalani States, Emi (Russ) D’Anthony, BriAnne (Hartley) Guerts, Jake (Lacey) Gibson, Yony States, Kenny (Joshy) Gibson, Maluhia (Emily) States, Ty States, 35 beloved grandchildren, his nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life, Memory Lane Memorial drive-through, honoring Ken E Gibson will be held Saturday, November 21, 2020 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints
Keolu Hills Meetinghouse from 3-5 pm.
1461 Kanapuu Drive, Kailua
Burial services will be held at the Lā’ie Cemetery.
