Kent Marshall Gammel was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He passed away surrounded by his loved ones on April 19, 2023, at the age of 76 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Kent was born in Pasadena, CA and raised nearby in Monterey Park, CA. He loved Jesus and he blessed others by giving to them the love that Jesus gave to him. He graduated from Montebello High School in 1964 and from California State College at Los Angels in 1968.
Aviation was Kent’s passion in life. He served as a fighter pilot in the U.S. Marine Corps and later in the Hawaii Air National Guard and spent 30 years as a commercial airline pilot for Aloha Airlines.
Kent is survived by his loving wife Carrie, his sons Bryan (Kristy) and Blake (Allison), and his five grandchildren Carsten, Simeon, Oren, Lillian, and Madeline.
A Celebration of Kent’s life will take place on Friday, June 9, 2023, at Hawaiian Memorial Park, 45-425 Kamehameha Highway, Kaneohe, HI 96744-1747. Visitation starts at 9:30 a.m. followed by a service at 11 a.m., and a reception at 12 p.m.
