Obituary of Kristin Naomi Khem
IN THE CARE OF

Hawaiian Memorial Park Cemetery & Funeral Services

KAILUA, HI – Kristin Naomi (Lum) Khem passed away too soon on August 28, 2021 at the age of 40. She was born on May 23, 1981 to Harrison and Ruth Lum. She grew up and lived in Kailua the majority of her life, spending a year in Arizona to live with her cousin. She is survived by her parents: Harrison and Ruth Lum, her brother: Matt (Patty), and her 4 children: Sean, Kara, Lucy, and Miley.

Kristin was quiet and reserved as a child, then became more outgoing after living in Arizona. She was kind, generous, thoughtful, caring, supportive, fun, goofy, and adventurous. She enjoyed hiking, shopping, doing things with her children, spending time with family, going to amusement parks, and eating delicious foods and desserts. She easily made friends wherever she worked or played. She worked for Old Navy in her early 20’s and, at the recommendation of a family member, she applied and got a job in Reservations at the Moana Surfrider Hotel where she continued to work and promoted to supervisor.

Kristin was married for about 11 years during which time she had 4 beautiful children whom she loved with all of her heart. Three years after divorcing, she found love once again and talked of remarrying. She had dreams of traveling and one day moving back to Arizona.

Kristin is remembered as a loving mother, daughter, cousin, niece, and friend. She will be remembered for her distinctive laugh, amazing smile, heart of gold, fun energy, goofy side, helpful nature, and huge amount of love for family and friends. She will be greatly missed and touched so many lives with her beautiful soul. May her legacy live on in her children, family, and friends. We know she will be watching over us all.

Due to Covid-19 government mandates, Kristin’s family will be holding a private service to celebrate her life. There will be a Drive-Thru Celebration of Life for Kristin on Saturday, September 18th at 3:30-5:00 at Hawaiian Memorial Park Cemetery and Funeral Services.
