Leslie Hisao Miyamoto, 69, was born in Lanai City, HI, and passed away peacefully on July 3, 2024 after an extended illness. He was known as “Sadao” to his Lanai buddies, and “Les” to most of us in his adult years.
Les worked for IBM as an Advisory Systems Engineer for most of his career, then continued working in the Tech Industry at KSBE, Hawaiian Tel, DataHouse, DOE, and TW Telecom. In his retirement, he enjoyed traveling with his family and friends, and kept active working part-time at the East West Center.
Les was considerate, hardworking, conscientious and just a really good person. He was an active member of Manoa Valley Church, a regular lap swimmer at Manoa Pool, and enjoyed aerobics at the YMCA and attending UH Volleyball Games. But his number one love and priority in life was always his family. Les was the most loving and devoted father and husband.
He is predeceased by his parents Sadao and Susan Miyamoto, and survived by his wife Lisa, daughter Kelli (James) Xu, son Adam (Allison), grandchildren Gavin, Zoey, and Lisa, and sisters Caroline Asuncion, Audrey Wong, Barbara (Harold) Tolentino, and Deborah (John) Dela Cruz. A Celebration of Life will be held on July 27 at Manoa Valley Church. Visitation from 10:00am, Service at 11:00am. Aloha Attire.
