Linda Ann Choy, beloved partner, mother, nana, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 22, 2026, at the age of 82.
Born in Hilo, Hawaii, Linda spent much of her life in Kāneʻohe, Hawaii, the community she proudly called home. She was known for her warmth, strength, kindness, and unwavering love for her family.
Linda enjoyed a distinguished professional career that reflected both her intelligence and dedication. Throughout her working years, she made meaningful contributions at Hawaiian Telephone Company, IBM, the Hawaii Institute of Marine Biology, and the Marine Mammal Research Program. Her work touched many lives and reflected her lifelong commitment to excellence and service.
Above all else, Linda treasured her family. She is lovingly remembered by her life partner, Harris Harbottle; her sons, Barry Choy and his spouse, Su Choy, and Brandon Choy and his spouse, Dan Morgann; and her cherished granddaughters, Lia AhSam and Mikayla AhSam, who brought her immense pride and joy.
Linda was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Wendy Lulani Choy AhSam; her sisters, Bernice Spurlock, Betty Courtney, and Sally Craine; and her brothers Delphin, Herbert, Stanley, and William Victorino.
Linda will be remembered for the love she gave so freely, the strength she showed throughout her life, and the lasting impact she made on everyone fortunate enough to know her. Her legacy lives on in her family she cherished and the countless memories they will carry with them forever.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, August 9, at Hawaiian Memorial Park Cemetery, located at 45-425 Kamehameha Highway, Kāneʻohe, HI 96744. The family will receive guests beginning at 9:00 AM, with the program to begin at 9:30 AM.
