

Beloved Mother, Grandmother, and Great-grandmother, Loretta Barbara Beckley was born on June 8th, 1933, in Honolulu. Hawai’i. She lived her childhood years at Waialae Avenue in Kaimuki. When she was a child she was a patient at Shriner’s Hospital. She attended Sacred Hearts Academy from the 1st grade until she graduated in 1951. While she was at the Academy she was a Girl Scout, played Volleyball, and made the Honor Roll.
After high school, Loretta wanted to be a teacher, but could not afford college, and even considered becoming a Nun. She worked a variety of jobs, including babysitting, house cleaning, and worked summers at the pineapple factory. She also worked as a secretary at St. Patrick’s Church, and worked at Hawaiian Tel until the early 1960’s.
In 1962 Loretta married George Charles Beckley II, and raised a family together in Palolo, Kaimuki, and Kailua. In 1975, she became a member of the Christian Science Church, whose teachings helped her tremendously in her life. At this time she was also a substitute teacher, and took classes at Windward Community College. She graduated with an AA in 1980, Cum Laude. After graduating she worked for a time in Real Estate.
In her later years Loretta enjoyed traveling. She traveled throughout the United States, Canada, Portugal, and took a Mexican cruise. Mom loved doing genealogy. Mom would also get together with her classmates and Friends for lunch. She loved going to exercise classes at Castle, but due to COVID they got canceled. She still kept in contact with her friends. She has a special network of friends that call her every day.
She was also blessed with amazing neighbors that always checked on her.
Loretta is survived by her loving family; her children George Charles Beckley, III, Kathleen Judith Kahinu -O- Kekua- O Kalani Beckley Olegario,{ Raymond Rivera Olegario) Gerard Joseph Kealiikoa Beckley, and Lorene Beckley McCurry. She is also survived by her loving grandchildren, Rayleen Olegario Biedenbach, ( Tyler Biedenbach ) Rachel Olegario Dietz, (Joseph Dietz) and Lacie McCurry and Emma McCurry and Alex McCurry. Loretta was also blessed with two great-granddaughters. Emery Rose Pumehana Dietz, and Lilah Ka’Ili Kapuluona Olegario Biedenbach.
