Mele Climaldi lived a life filled with movement, friendship, laughter, and love.
An enthusiastic fitness instructor and triathlete, Mele found some of her greatest happiness among those who shared her love of exercise in all its forms. Whether running with friends on the Windward Side, swimming at Ala Moana, training with Team Jet and Boca, or teaching her fitness classes at The Honolulu Club, Mele embraced an active life and the friendships that came with it.
Mele treasured her family deeply. From the special bond she shared with her father to the time she spent living with and caring for her grandfather, Wallace Kim, family was a source of love, connection, and devotion throughout her life.
Although early-onset Alzheimer's eventually changed the course of her life, it could never erase the love she shared, the friendships she nurtured, or the countless moments of joy and laughter she created along the way. Those memories, and the meaningful connections she made throughout her life, remain a lasting part of her legacy, carried forward by the family and friends who knew and loved her.
Her family invites everyone who knew and loved Mele to remember her with joy and love in their hearts. Let us gather to share stories, photographs, laughter, and friendship as we celebrate the wonderful life she lived and the memories we will forever cherish.
Mele's spirit lives on in the friendships she inspired and the love she leaves behind.
