Shoichi "Scratch" Tamura, a humorous, hard-working, thoughtful, loyal, brave, and generous man, passed away on January 11, 2026, at the age of 90. Born on July 7, 1935, in Wailuku, Maui, Hawaii, Scratch lived a life full of dedication and warmth.
A resident of Kaneohe, Hawaii, Scratch was known for his unwavering loyalty and generosity. His thoughtful nature and hard-working spirit left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
Visitation will be held at Hawaiian Memorial Park Cemetery & Funeral Services, located at 45-425 Kamehameha Highway, Kaneohe, Hawaii, on March 9, 2026, starting at 9:30 am. Following the visitation, a Celebration of Life Service will take place at the same venue at 10:30 am.
The committal service will be held at Hawaii State Veterans Cemetery, located at 45-349 Kamehameha Highway, Kaneohe, Hawaii, on March 9, 2026, at 1:00 pm.
