Steve Suzuki, 63, was born in Hitachi, Japan. He graduated from Leilehua High School an OIA West All-Star Center. He then joined the United States Army where he retired as a Medical Specialist after 20 years of service. During Steve’s military career he was awarded; Meritorious Service Medal (2nd Award), Army Commendation Medal (4th Award), Army Achievement Medal (2nd Award), Army Good Conduct Medal (6th Award), National Defense Service Medal, Southwest Asia Service Medal with 3 Bronze Service Star (BSS), Noncommissioned Officer’s Professional Development Ribbon with Numeral 3, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Kuwait Liberation Medal (SA), Kuwait Liberation Medal (KU), Expert Marksmanship Qualification Badge with Pistol Bar, Expert Field Medical Badge, Aircraft Crewman Badge and Parachutist Badge. After retirement, Steve worked for the Army - Headquarters, Dental Health Command as an Information Technology Specialist for 12 years. Steve was a good and faithful servant of Inspire Church under the amazing leadership of Pastors Mike and Lisa Kai. In his spare time, Steve loved to golf with the Pake Boys – Malcolm, Jeff and Alex. Steve was a very generous person who was known for his smile and very gentle spirit and a love for helping everyone he could. After fighting the good fight of faith with cancer, Steve was sent heaven bound on May 19, 2020.
Steve was the most amazing husband Janine could have ever prayed for. He loved his family very much! His children: Sasha Suzuki, Lovey Sugita, Cassy Sugita and Danny Sugita. Granddaughters: Erin Suzuki and Teegan Parker. Sister Helen Loughlin (Matt), nice Cheyenne Alarcio (Andrew) and nephew Noah Loughlin. Steve’s lovely mother, Kimie Suzuki.
Steve’s Celebration of Life Service will be held at a future date when Covid does not restrict social distancing.
