
Warren Deaton Waikiki Sr., 68 of Kaneohe, passed away peacefully, with his family by his side. He was a loving, devoted, family man who leaves behind his wife of 48 years, Dalphine P. Campbell, 6 children, Warren Jr. (Jessica), Amy (Kalem) Kaho’ohanohano, Kamuela, Amber, Kaimi (Nohea), and Jonathan Waikiki and 15 grandchildren ; Siblings Lorna (Kimo) Zablan, Deborah Fatu, Kent, Eugene (Vanessa) and Todd Sonoda, Tovia (Violette), John and Jason (Rachael) Fatu and Letwell (Lavern) Pauole ; Predeceased by his parents Peter Waikiki, Estelle Naomi and Tovia Fatu ; siblings Loreen Pasigan, Sonny and Peter Sonoda.
Warren, a 1972 graduate of Farrington High School, was raised by humble parents and grew up in Kam IV Housing in Kalihi, Oahu. He was a skilled construction worker with The Hawaii Laborer’s Union for years until starting his new job as campus security at James B. Castle High School. In 2000, he moved to Pukalani, Maui and worked at Maui High. In 2012, he moved back to Oahu and resided in Kaneohe until his passing.
Warren will always be remembered for his loving heart, his sense of humor, his big smile and contagious laugh. He enjoyed fishing, playing his ukulele, building things and most importantly spending time with his ‘ohana. He was famous for sharing his life stories and reminiscing with friends and family. The love and wisdom he shared has touched many hearts and the countless memories will be cherished and live on forever.
