Wayland You Moon Chang passed away peacefully on September 11, 2026, at the age of 86. Born in Honolulu, Hawai’i, on September 4, 1940, Wayland lived a full life. He spent many years working with CUNA Mutual Insurance Group and later pursued a career as a realtor. A graduate of St. Louis High School and Chaminade University, he found great joy in golf and his trips to Las Vegas.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Chow Chang and Hong Yee Young, and his brothers Wallace, Anthony, Winfred, and Eugene. He leaves behind a loving family: siblings Clement and Aileen; sons Borman (Darlene) and Kaulana; daughters Tara (Ron) Cabardo and Tasha (d. Lee) Murashige; and his grandchildren Madison, Makenna, Kaleo, and Micah, as well as many nieces and nephews. He will be missed by all who knew him.
A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
