

Deacon A. C. Dickinson was born July 31, 1942 in Tarry, Arkansas to John Wesley Dickinson, Sr. and Louise (Williams) Dickinson to this union 14 children were born. AC Dickinson accepted Christ at an early age at the New Macedonia Baptist Church in Tarry, Arkansas. He received his education at Lincoln High School in Tarry, Arkansas later moved to Kansas City, Kansas 1961. AC met and married Shirley Brown Dickinson in 1963 in Kansas City, Kansas and to this union two children were born. AC Dickinson was employed by American Ingredients as a supervisor, Construction worker under Olean Wayne Construction Company, and later he was hired by Ford Motor Company retiring after 20 years of service. He united with Calvary Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late O. L. Brown and was ordained as a Deacon. He continued to serve as a faithful Deacon under the leadership of the late Pastor D. D. Miller as a long outstanding member. He completed his journey on this earth to continue his heavenly journey on July 31, 2015, he was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter Annett Hayes.
AC Dickinson leaves to cherish his loving memories; his wife of 52 years, Shirley Dickinson; his daughters, Gayle Davis of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, Carolyn Neal of Memphis, Tennessee; his sons, Tony L. Dickinson (Toni M) of Kansas City, Kansas; Deacon Gregory L. Dickinson (Vanessa) of San Antonio, Texas and Pastor Freddie Hayes (Tammie D) of Wichita, Kansas; six brothers, James Dickinson (Gwendolyn); Curlee Dickinson (Norma); Eddie Dickinson (Jeanne) all of Kansas City, Kansas; Leroy Dickinson of KCMO; John W. Dickinson, Jr. (Gladys) of Tarry, Arkansas; Herman Dickinson of Flint, Michigan; seven sisters, Ms. Charity Dickinson, Mrs. Freddie May Scott (Harold) of KCKS; Mrs. Barbara Williams (Rev. Roosevelt) of KCMO; Ms. Betty Weaver of Dallas, Texas; Mrs. Jean Smith (Bob) of Hatchechubbe, Alabama; Mrs. Mildred Gray (Jethro) of Flint, Michigan and Mrs. Odessa Linsy (John) of Tarry, Arkansas; (16) grandchildren; (2) great grandchildren a host of other relatives and friends.
