

He was preceded in death by his father Howard (1954), his mother Roxie May (1976), sister Louise Thomas (2009) and wife of 50 years, JeanAnne (2020).
He is survived by his sons Todd Worthey (Kristie), Fort Worth, TX; Scott Worthey (Alicia), Paola, KS; Cory Worthey (Rachel); Ore City, TX and six grandchildren, Lindsey, Lauren, Taylor, Kayden, Austin and Riley.
Alan was a graduate of Wyandotte High School and Central Missouri State University and then went on to serve his country in the United States Army Reserve Airborne Division from 1965 until 1969, and as a Kansas City Kansas Police Officer from 1967 to 1971. For the next 40 years, he worked in the Insurance industry as an auto and heavy equipment claims adjuster. He also owned and operated Alandon Rebuilders & Equipment from 1984 to 1993 and continued in the insurance industry until his retirement.
He was a lifelong member of the Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite and Abdallah Shrine as well as having served on various boards, including the Wyandotte County Sheriff’s Posse and serving as President of the Wyandotte County Fair Association. Alan always enjoyed time spent at a lake boating and fishing. He was a Lifetime Member of the NRA as well as an NRA Instructor with a passion for teaching handgun safety. In retirement he became an avid guitar enthusiast. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
A graveside for Alan will be held Friday, February 18, 2022 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, 701 North 94th Street, Kansas City, KS 66112.
