

Albert Lamont Rolls, 72, of Kansas City, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at the Research Medical Center. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 31st at Chapel Hill – Butler Funeral Home, 701 North 94th Street, Kansas City, Kansas. Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 p.m. preceding the service at the funeral home. Inurnment will be in Leavenworth National Cemetery at a later date.
Albert was born November 24, 1942 in Youngstown, Ohio. He served two tours as a Sergeant in the Army during the Vietnam War. Albert played professional baseball for the Chicago Cubs and after moving to Kansas City, was a coach for a multitude of youth athletics. He was joined in marriage to Janice Chism in 1972 and they have enjoyed 43 years of marriage. Albert worked for the State of Kansas for over 33 years in management.
He was preceded in death by his father, Theodore Rolls, his mother, Genevieve Marks, his sister, Harriett Rolls, and his brother, Joseph Rolls.
Albert is survived by his wife, Janice Rolls; sister, Annie Rolls-Bates; son, Damian Rolls and his wife Chaunte; daughter, Dana King and her husband James; daughter, Lisa Rolls; sons Kenny and Tony Rolls; daughter, Rebecca Waliallah; as well as ten grandchildren, one great-grandchild and numerous nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
