

Andrew Rodriguez, 82 died on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at his home in Kansas City, KS after a long struggle with chronic kidney disease. Services will be held at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 701 North 94th Street, Kansas City, KS 66112 on Thursday, April 30, 2026, Visitation from 9:00 am to 10:00 am with a funeral service beginning at 10:00 am. Entombment will be immediately following at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
Andrew was born on December 1, 1943, in Austin, Texas to Andrew (Doc) Rodriquez and Anastacia Marie Rodriguez. He moved to the Kansas City area in 1968. Andrew was in the restaurant business from 1968 – 1978. During that time, he was an amazing cook.
Andrew’s service and dedication for 35 years was to Delden Garage Doors, July 1978 – December 2013 at which time he retired. On March 17, 1995, he married Frances M. Hilt. He was the love of her life.
Andrew lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures; being with family and friends. Andrew had an uncanny ability to reach people in a deep and positive way. He loved being at home watching movies, doing yard work and cooking. He loved cooking for his family and co-workers and Fishing!!
He was preceded in death by Andrew (Doc) Rodriguez and Anastacia Rodriguez, parents, of Austin Texas, Janie Torres, sister; Ernest Rodriguez, brother both of Austin, Texas. Rosa “Rosie” Perez, sister and Cruz Perez, brother-in-law, both of Kansas City.
He is survived by Mary Guerra, sister, Julia Aleman, sister, Sylvia Rodriguez, all of Austin, Texas; Frank Rodriguez, brother and his wife, Jamie of Shawnee, KS; (3) Children, Cynthia Rodriguez, daughter, Austin, TX; Sandra Galindo-Rodriguez, daughter, Kansas City; Andy Rodriguez, son, Austin, TX; (5) Grandchildren, Roya Ruiz, Entine Ruiz, Jasmine Rodriguez, Drew Rodriguez, all of Austin, Texas; Julian Rodriguez of Kansas City; (4) Great Grandchildren, Bijou Ruiz, Valon Ruiz, Biarose Rodriguez and Donnie Rodriguez all of Austin, Texas.
Tio was loved by many nieces and nephews of both the Austin, Texas and Kansas City, Kansas areas.
