Anita V. Douglas

Anita V. Douglas, 79, of Kansas City, KS passed away February 20, 2010 at Shawnee Mission Medical Center. Funeral service will be 6:30 p.m. Friday, February 26, 2010 at Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home 701 N. 94th Street Kansas City, KS. Friends may call from 5:00 until time of service Friday at the funeral home. Private family burial in Leavenworth National Cemetery, March 1, 2010. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests for those wishing to make donations please donate to Cancer Action, The Humane Society, or the American Heart Association.

Anita was born on February 3, 1931 to John W. Hauk and Bertha E. (Spohr) Hauk. She resided in Kansas City, Kansas all of her life and was a 1949 graduate of Turner High School. On January 22, 1960 she married her husband of 50 years, Larry Douglas.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers; John and Robert Hauk and grandson Jimmy Haley.

She is survived by her husband, Larry, daughters; Ginny Haley (Jim), Cindy Bellamey (Bill), Cheryl Reitmeyer (Robin), Diane Byers (Wade), sons; Larry Douglas and Tom Douglas, two brothers; Roy Hauk and Charles Hauk. Left behind to cherish her memory are her grandchildren; Julie Kincaid, Mindy Schechinger, Andrea Jeselnik, Kelly Chiles, Stacey Byers, Rhea Reitmeyer, John Haley, Katrina Byers, Larry Maynard, Michael Maynard, Stephanie Morris, Tyler Bellamey, Scott Bellamey and Patrick Morris, great-grandchildren; Bryce, Joshua, Blake, Bailey, Austin, Nathan, Brennan, Emma, Evelyn and Alexandria.

All who were dearly beloved and will miss her greatly.
