Anna was born into a family with a rich spiritual and musical heritage, including her grandpa, W.I. Deboard, her uncles, and her own dad, Walter, who played the violin and directed church music, often accompanied by her mom, Dorothy. She carried this heritage on through lifelong ministry at Carpinteria Church of the Nazarene and Ventura Missionary Church, both in California. She and her husband Jim blessed thousands of people with their prayers, visits, calls and cards of encouragement.
Their 55-year marriage was an example to those around them, as they loved each other so much and served God with all their hearts. Anna Pearl treasured her husband, Jim, and was a faithful helper, support and companion to him. He often said that she was his pearl and he was her “gem.” Together, they made the perfect team.
Anna graduated from Pasadena Nazarene College, and met her husband, Jim, shortly after she spied him in the choir loft one Sunday. They were married June 13, 1964 and Anna taught 4th grade for a few years before coming home to raise their four children in Carpinteria, California.
Anna loved clocks with a variety of sounds, giving gifts to family and friends, scrapbooking and old-fashioned holiness camp-meetings. Most of all, she loved and cared for her twenty-three family members, especially her cherished husband, Jim, and her Savior, Jesus Christ, with whom she faithfully spent time every day. She would want to remind us all that knowing HIM is all that really matters. We cannot imagine life going on without her, but have peace in our blessed assurance that she is with the Lord.
She was preceded in death by her precious mother, Dorothy Pearl Deboard Rauhut, her dear father, Walter E. Rauhut, and her brother, Walter Rauhut. She is survived by her beloved husband Jim (Lenexa, KS), four dearly loved children and their spouses, twelve grandchildren and one great-grandson.
