Arlan grew up and lived in the Kansas City area most of his life. He started his own company, Metzger Construction, building both residential and commercial buildings for many years after which he drove as a bus driver. His time in the United States Army helped build his character that would carry him through life, he was the strong silent type, preferring to work hard and get the job done! Always a sharp dressed man, his hobbies included making and selling jewelry for men, which he often wore, as well. Judy and Arlan's enjoyment of hitting the road in the Winnebago during the 70'a carried over to their joy of riding around town in their hotrods or taking to the road on his Harley Davidson. An avid sports fan he often liked to watch the St. Louis Cardinals, Kansas City Royals and of course the Kansas City Chiefs play. His family will fondly remember him hollering "Juudee" or even "shut the hell up" in his fun and jovial way.
Memorial contributions may be made to The Humane Society of Greater Kansas City.
