Austin W. Dollard, 72, of Kansas City, Kansas, passed away February 25th at home. A visitation will be from 2:00-4:00 pm, Sunday, March 4th at Chapel Hill – Butler Funeral Home, 701 N. 94th St., Kansas City, KS 66112. Funeral services will be 11:00 am, Monday, March 5th at the funeral home. Interment with honors will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
Austin was born April 15, 1945 in Kansas City, Kansas to Austin and Margaret Dollard. He graduated from Wyandotte High School and served in the United States Army in the 101st Airborne. After his military discharge, he worked for Union Pacific as a conductor for 43 years and was a member of the UTU 1409 and BLET Unions. Austin was joined in marriage to Betty Hendricks in 1968. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and the American Legion #199. Austin enjoyed playing slot machines, going fishing, watching KU Basketball, and making trips to Branson, especially when he could see Andy Williams perform.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, Betty Dollard; and two brothers, Jack Dollard, and Frank Dollard.
Austin is survived by his children, James Dollard (Kim) of Shawnee, KS, Lisa Dugan (Ryan Hernandez) of KCK, and Bill Dollard (Kayla Davidson) of KCK; his four grandchildren, Ashley, Bailey, Gavin, and Ava Dollard; his brother Robert “Bob” Dollard (Norma) of Branson, MO; and his beloved dog, C.
