We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Barbara Ann Bond on July 31, 2026. She was a loving sister, devoted wife, mother,grandmother and a cherished friend to many who considered her family. Barbara is survived by her husband of 34 years, daughter, son, stepdaughter and 4 grandchildren.
Barbara filled her days with gardening, sewing and caring for those around her. Family and friends affectionately called her "Shortly " or " Barby". They will fondly remember her love for Diet Coke, her delicious chocolate cake, and her impressive doll collection.
She hosted beautiful holiday dinners and had a special talent for making ordinary moments feel extraordinary. Barbara often said, "There's always room for one more at the supper table."
Visitation will be held at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 701 North 94th Street, Kansas City, Kansas 66112 on September 2, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, followed by Funeral Services at 11:00 am.
Final resting place will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 701 North 94th Street, Kansas City.
Please join the family following the burial at the family home for a Potluck dinner. Please bring your favorite dish to celebrate at the house, to break bread with and remember the good times with her. The address is 1020 South Street Leavenworth, Kansas 66048.
