Barbara was born on March 25, 1934, to James and Paulene Stack in Kansas City Kansas. She graduated from Wyandotte High School in 1952. On January 16, 1954, Barbara married Carlton D. Bourn. They had three children, Steve, Ed and Brenda.
She spent more than 20 years working for the IRS and retired in 1994.
Barbara was preceded in death by her brother James Stack, her sister Joyce Braillier, her daughter Brenda Bourn and her daughter-in-law Laine Bourn. Barbara leaves behind her husband Carlton, her son and daughter-in-law Steve and Lynne, and her son Ed. In addition, she leaves her four granddaughters Jennifer Powell, Kaci Frame, Brandi Pond, Kimberly Romero and their husbands. She is also survived by six great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 701 N 94th St, Kansas City Kansas on February 21, 2026, at 2:00 pm. A visitation will be held in the Chapel Hill Funeral Home, from 2:30 to 4:00 pm, at the same location
