

Barbara Ann was born on February 25, 1952, in Kansas City, Missouri. She was the middle child to her parents, Joseph and Margaret Barsick (Miller) of Strawberry Hill. Barbara entered into eternal rest on Sunday, January 30, 2022. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, February 12, 2022, from 2-4 p.m. at Chapel Hill Butler Funeral Home, 701 N. 94th St., Kansas City, KS. Reception to follow at the American Legion, 6521 Nieman Rd., Shawnee, KS. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Barbara’s honor to Cancer Action (canceractionkc.org).
Barbara attended St. John the Baptist, Bishop Ward, and Wyandotte High School. After graduation she met the love of her life, Wylie Denton. They married on March 2, 1972. To the union, three children were born: Brian Michael Denton (Jennifer), Jaime Jean Denton-Landie (Ryan), and Wylie Joseph Denton (Danielle). Barbara worked with her son, Brian, at his fence company for almost 25 years. Barbara loved her family so much. She enjoyed going to the lake or farm and doing anything that involved her kids and grandchildren. She loved to travel. A few of her favorites were Branson, the Great Smoky Mountains, Lake Tahoe, Colorado, Florida, and Redwood National Park. Most importantly, she planned a yearly vacation to Bull Shoals Lake for the whole family, which included her niece, Jennifer Centonze (Martin). Barbara also had so many lifelong friends that she loved dearly. They all held a special place in her heart.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Margaret; brother, Michael Barsick; sister, Nancy Martin; and niece, Jessica Martin.
Barbara is survived by her husband of almost 50 years, Wylie of the home; sons, Brian and Wylie; daughter, Jaime; seven grandchildren: Shelby, Savannah, Peyton, Kylie, Jaxson, Weston and Bentley; many nieces and nephews and countless friends.
