Barbara June Whitehead

Barbara was born June 19, 1933 to Charley and Margaret Whitehead. She graduated from Wyandotte High School and went to work at AT&T soon after graduation but due to a disability, had to retire from the company after working there 30 years. She was an avid bowler for a number of years and traveled to many parts of the country with her teammates on bowling tournaments. She enjoyed playing bridge, working crossword puzzles, and reading mystery novels. She loved to be around the family and they enjoyed having her with them.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Charley and Margaret Whitehead; her sister, Leona Bollinger; and her brother-in-law, William Fox.

She is survived by a sister, Elsie Fox; a brother, Charley (Alta) Whitehead; brother-in-law, Floyd Bollinger; four nieces, Linda (Loren) Miller, Sharon Fox, Carol (John) Yates and Karen Miller; a nephew, David Bollinger; a number of great nieces and nephews as well as some great-great nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at the Bucyrus United Methodist Church, 200 4th Ave., Bucyrus, KS at ??:?? on January ??, 2015. A private burial will be held at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, 701 North 94th Street, Kansas City, Kansas. Memorial donations may be made to the Lupus Foundation, 7600 Troost Avenue, Kansas City, Missouri or the Bucyrus United Methodist Church.
