Berna Dene Ashley, 92, Overland Park, Kansas, passed away June 27, 2025. Berna was born December 7, 1932 in WaKeeney, Kansas, to William and Mary (Pigman) Truan. She graduated from Northeast High School in Kansas City, MO in 1949. She worked at AT&T in the 1950’s and enjoyed square dancing, taking walks outside and spending time with her granddaughters.
Berna is preceded in death by her husband Roland V. Ashley, her parents and two brothers Leon and Craig Truan. Survivors include two sons Brian Ashley and his wife Carol, and Paul Ashley and his wife Michelle. Left behind to cherish her memory are her two granddaughters Angella and Isabelle.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be sent to Heartspring Residential School for Special Needs Children, 8700 East 29th Street North, Wichita, Kansas 67226.
Visitation will be July 8,2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, with the funeral service at 11:00 AM at Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home, 701 N 94th Street, Kansas City, KS. Burial in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
