Bernard V. “Bud” Hurt, 73, was born April 14, 1945 in KC, KS, and died June 20, 2018. He graduated from Ward High School, Donnelly College and Kansas State at Pittsburg. Bernard was an E-5 Aviation Ordnanceman in the U.S. Navy from 1964-68. He retired after 30 years of service at the GM Fairfax plant and was a member of Local 31. Bernard was also a member of the American Legion, NRA, National Street Machine Club, Model A Ford club, Goodguys, American Air Museum, National Impala Association, a volunteer for the Humane Society, and a 32nd Degree Mason in Wyandotte Lodge 3.
Surviving are his wife, Kiethann Hurt, son Eric and his wife Nae, grandson Alex, and granddaughters Elise and Crystal, daughter Melissa and her husband Scott Wallace, and a sister, Rosemary.
A visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00pm, Fri., June 22nd at Chapel Hill – Butler, 701 N. 94th St., KCK. Funeral services will be 10:00am, Sat., June 23rd at the funeral home. Interment with Honors will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society.
