Bertie Marie Wilson passed away on the morning of November 9, 2018, surrounded by loving family & friends. She was born in Shendoah, Iowa, then grew up in Jasper, Missouri. Bertie graduated from Jasper High School then moved to Kansas City, Kansas in 1942. She was a member of Brenner Heights Baptist Church. Bertie was part owner of two businesses in her lifetime – Wilson Tool & Die, Inc. and B&W Tax and Accounting, Inc. She was a substitute school teacher for 4 years at Vance Elementary and White Church Elementary School. She was an active member of the Parent Teacher Association at Vance Elementary, White Church Elementary and also Coronado Middle School.
Her family and home were her passion and meant everything to her. She loved her country music, trips to Branson, Missouri and all her little kittens she had. She was a proud mama of her babies and her home. Bertie worked hard in her yard and loved every minute of it. She married the love of her life, Marvin Keith Wilson.
Surviving children are Larry Dean Wilson, Ronald Keith Wilson, Stephen Allen Wilson, Joyce Marie Wilson (Speilman), Janice Sue Wilson (Anthony) and Julie Ann Wilson (O’Brien). Bertie had 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She leaves her sister, Bobbie Ann Hartman (Cobb) of Springfield, Missouri. She also leaves loving nieces and nephews. Bertie was preceded in death by her parents, Iva & Charles Waggoner, Brother Jack, Brother Floyd and Sister Bessie.
Bertie had two special friends, Kylene Williams and Loretta Crawford and many more friends, both personal and business related.
Funeral services will be 2:00pm, Monday, November 12th at Chapel Hill – Butler Funeral Home, 701 N. 94th St., KCK, with interment to follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
